Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou acknowledges that forward Richarlison has much more to give.
Following Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich, the Brazilian took the lead in the Spurs lineup. A three-pronged approach that also included Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski included Richarlison.
“I thought he worked hard today but I felt we didn’t use him enough,” Postecoglou told reporters after the game. I believed that we could have sought him out a little more and been a little bit more direct with him.
“He was putting in a lot of effort and was hitting some nice runs. He got few opportunities, but I felt there were more that we might have given him.
“We need to continue helping Richy because he is putting in a lot of defensive effort for the club, and I felt we didn’t look hard enough for him today when we got into the front third.
“I have enough of time to spend with him. He’s a striker with many excellent qualities who will always put in a lot of effort for the team, so that’s a terrific place for me to start.
