Egypt’s coach gives update on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s latest injury.

Following his forced substitution due to injury during Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations match against Ghana, Liverpool will be worried about Mohamed Salah’s fitness.

Rui Vitoria, the manager of Egypt, believes that Mohamed Salah’s injury is not “dangerous,”

but he also acknowledges that it is too early to tell after the Liverpool star caused a stir at the Africa Cup of Nations.

In their AFCON Group B matchup with Ghana, the 31-year-old was substituted off at the interval, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

After a point against Mozambique in the group opener, Egypt needed to avoid defeat in order to maintain their hopes of making it to the next round.

In their last game, Vitoria’s team will play Cape Verde in an attempt to secure advancement, though it’s unclear if Salah will be able to play.

Liverpool will be keenly watching the situation with their star forward, who has already missed victories over Arsenal and Fulham.

Depending on how far Egypt move in the tournament—the final is set for February 10—he may miss an additional five games even if he is injury-free.

Salah broke forward during an Egyptian counterattack, only to be substituted off soon before halftime.

As the game went on, the Liverpool player was on his haunches and swiftly gave Ahmed Hegazi the armband.

It’s too early to determine the whole scope of the issue, according to Vitoria, but the CEO is optimistic that it is “not dangerous”.
