Crystal Palace 0–0 Everton: The FA Cup third-round match will be replayed after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was unfairly sent off.

Sean Dyche said that VAR was starting to “test his patience” after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s harsh red card forced Everton to settle for a goalless draw in their FA Cup third-round match against Crystal Palace.

Report: Everton and Crystal Palace play to a scoreless draw in the FA Cup third round; Dominic Calvert-Lewin was controversially sent off for a tackle on Nathaniel Clyne following a VAR review; another setback for Everton was the stretcher-out of Dwight McNeil, who suffered a leg injury; Goodison Park will host a rematch.

The referee then gave Calvert-Lewin a straight red card even though the striker made very slight contact with the Palace defender’s shin because Clyne remained down following the challenge, per Craig Pawson, the VAR’s recommendation.

Sean Dyche said that Dwight McNeil was “OK” after he was stretchered off, but Everton still managed to hold on for a well-earned draw. Palace will now go to Goodison Park for the replay.
