James Balagizi, Liverpool midfielder, was called up early from Wigan and is now on loan to Kilmarnock the Scottish Premiership for the remainder of the season.
After just seven games in League One, Balagizi was called back to Merseyside this month due to his inability to adjust to the league in the first half of the season.
However, the 20-year-old has not been in Liverpool for long as he moves to Scotland. His time at the DW was limited by injuries.
Balagizi will play the rest of the season with Kilmarnock, who are presently fourth in the table, according to confirmation from the club.
Luke Chambers had a great season at Kilmarnock, which helped him transfer there.
This season, the left-back had his first appearance for the first team before—ironically—moving to Wigan in January.
Under Derek McInnes, who has had important midfielders Brad Lyons and Kyle Magennis sidelined due to serious injury, the aim will be that Balagizi receives consistent game time.
The young player is on his third loan; he made an impression with Crawley last season, but an injury ended that stint.
Though he initially attracted attention as a No. 6 at Crawley, Balagizi is a gifted midfielder who can also play in a variety of attacking areas.
He is perhaps best in a box-to-box role. He has had multiple opportunities to break through into Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team, but injuries have ruined them all.
For the next four and a half months, Balagizi could have the chance to make up lost time by joining Kilmarnock.
